Yesterday I made copy's all day!! I realized by doing this teachers don't have enough time to do these things. They have to do it on their own time. We help out a lot we may not realize it but by us going and doing these things it takes a lot of stress off of their shoulders. Its very boring but it helps them out a lot. I wish I could spend more time with the children. They only thing I like about making copy's is I get stuff out of the vending machine.

We went to West Hancock yesterday. The children were working on math when I came in. They kind of got distracted at first but then got back on task. All the children had their one-hundred chart and an expo marker. She would write down a problem like "30 is 10 less than what number" the students had to circle 30 and draw an arrow to the number it was less than. The answer was 40 but students were putting 20 because they were getting confused with more and less. I had to walk around and make sure they understood. They were all excited to get help from me. When lunch came around I redid their bulletin board. I also made copies of their test. when I got back I had enough time to staple all of them and then it was time to leave.

Yesterday I went to West Hancock Elementary school. I am in a second grade class. There are 25 students in my class. The teacher is Mrs. Shaw. The students were kind of rowdy being that there was a new person in the room. In order to keep them quiet she would say "give me five" the students would hold up five fingers and get quiet. She used visual aids to help them understand and learn. They also used technology. They were reading a book and answering questions out loud. They were all very eager to answer. She draws a popsicle stick out of a cup to see who will answer. We also studied the vocab on an InterWrite pad. The children would say the word that went with the definition. Right before lunch they went around the room saying their names and something about themselves. Mrs. Shaw lets them go get their stuff out of their cubby's. She lines them up in order of what color shirt they wear. She choses a new color to go first every day. I can not wait to go back and help out again!!!!
